The Guy Who Fired WordPress

I spent my first career in brick-and-mortar business: Navy projectiles, private jet conversions, a three-location Rent-a-Wreck franchise in Dallas-Fort Worth. Then Wayne Atkinson and I spent the next 20-plus years building marketing software, starting with VidPenguin and RSSMasher.

The content side got easier every year. The sites never did. Every autoblog lived on WordPress, and every WordPress site needed plugins, updates, security fixes and a hosting plan that could fall over. More sites meant more upkeep, not more freedom.

Then it hit me. The only part of my publishing system that ever broke was the website. The tools could find, write and post a story on their own, then a plugin update would take the site down and undo the whole point of automating.

So Wayne stopped patching WordPress and built a site with nothing to patch. I moved all of my own autoblogging onto it. No updates, no patches, no plugin conflicts. The tools publish and the sites just work.

I already have WordPress. Why would I switch?

Keep WordPress for your money site. Masher Sites is for news. A news site only has to do three things well: take in posts, show them cleanly and load fast. Masher Sites does exactly that with no plugins, so there's nothing to update, patch or fix. Start with the one niche site that gives you the most trouble and leave the old one alone until the new one has a few days of posts.

Will it work with the tools I already use?

NewsMasher, RSSMasher, AIMasher, VidPenguin2 and BoosterPages publish straight into Masher Sites by API. Article2Video and MarketMasher pick up stories from your site's RSS feeds. You can also post by hand whenever you like.

If you host it, what happens to my sites down the road?

Your one-time payment covers hosting for the life of the product, as determined by Launch Ninjas, Inc. There is no monthly hosting bill. Damon and Wayne built Masher Sites for their own publishing, and every one of Damon's autoblogs and news sites runs on it today.

Will a site this simple look professional?

Simple is the point. You pick one of 4 clean styles at setup, every page is mobile first, and there's no plugin clutter slowing it down. Scroll up to see all four.

Do I pay monthly hosting fees?

No. You pay once for your network of 3, 10 or 20 sites, and hosting is included for life.

I've never touched DNS. Can I still set this up?

Yes. Send support the domain you want to use and they give you one DNS record to add at your domain registrar. Setup takes about 10 minutes and there's nothing to download.

Is email hosting included?

No. Masher Sites runs your news site. Email hosting and other advanced DNS features are not included and can be bought separately.

What if one of my sites takes off?

Masher Sites are CDN ready. When a site's traffic grows, a CDN can be added with zero downtime. Contact support to set it up.
